2025-2026 171 DIAMOND HEAD COACH
Coach Loc grew up in Vietnam and has lived in Austin and the surrounding area for the past 32 years. He played semi-professionally in Vietnam for two years during his late teens and competed for more than 25 years as an Outside Hitter in men’s clubs across Texas. Since 2013, he has been coaching volleyball for kids in the community, including several years at the club level. Coach Loc is dedicated and passionate about developing young athletes and preparing them for the next level. He looks forward to watching his players grow as athletes and has no doubt that Austin Velocity will have a successful upcoming season.
COACH BRIAN
2025-2026 171 Diamond Assistant Coach
Coach Brian started playing on intramural volleyball teams as an undergraduate at the University of Texas and has continued to the present day, playing in competitive recreational adult leagues. He can play around the court in any position, but loves getting to run the offense as a setter. Even more than playing, Brian is passionate about working with young athletes as a coach. He has coached for many years across multiple sports, including basketball, tee ball, softball, and, of course, volleyball. Brian started coaching younger athletes in Spike Frog and also coached the Magellan International School volleyball team for two seasons.
Brian was the assistant coach in the 2024-2025 season for the 162 Emerald travel team and is looking forward to returning this year as the assistant coach of the 171 Diamond travel team. He is also returning to coach in the Spike Frog high school division in the fall. Coach Brian’s main goal as a coach is to foster a love of the sport and to build athletes’ self-confidence along with their skills.
Coach Brian is certified in USAV Safe Sport IMPACT, and Gold Medal Squared.
