BOYS OPEN GYM

Our boys had a terrific season and are looking for more friends – in all age groups!

After a short break, the Boys Open Gym will resume on Sunday, 7/21, from 4-6pm.

[Note: the plan is to keep the Sunday 4-6pm, after the beginning of school as well]

If you have not seen our Boys Open Gym yet, here is what to expect:

– 2 courts, spontaneous play, mostly self-directed

– an experienced Austin Velocity coach is always available to instruct on technique and recommend / coordinate games, if desired

– different ages / abilities naturally separate over the 2 courts

– it is ok for the parent of the youngest ones to stay and help coach their kid(s), if desired

– often, at 6pm warm bread is served out of our kitchen to complete the fun!

We see men on the Olympic indoor courts, professional beach, and at many universities.  Where are these men getting their experience growing up?  Here in Texas, there are very few Middle or High Schools promoting the sport for the boys.  Parents don’t even consider it as an option for their young male athletes as a result.

Well, there IS a place for boys to play and grow in the sport. Austin Velocity offers opportunities for young boys to play on a competitive team! This is a fast-growing sport that can be played long into adulthood, and when your local high school finally offers a Boys Volleyball Program, your boys will be ready.
Austin Velocity is committed to growing the sport of volleyball in Austin, TX and making that sport accessible to boys.
