COACH KINLEA
2025-2026 111 Diamond Head Coach
Coach Kinlea is a senior at Concordia University where she plays volleyball at the collegiate level serving her team as the captain. She is studying Kinesiology and this is her second year coaching with Austin Velocity. Coach Kinlea has a passion for working with young athletes and spreading her love for the game. Coach Kinlea is also a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist and hopes to begin a doctorate of physical therapy program next Fall. Coach Kinlea is excited to be returning to the Austin Velocity family for another season to help athletes grow into the players they dream to be!
COACH ERIK
2025-2026 111 Diamond Assistant Coach
Coach Erik’s volleyball journey began in high school, where he started as a setter before transitioning to middle blocker. His senior year was particularly memorable as his team placed 3rd at the Indiana State Finals. Coach Erik continues to stay active in the sport through coaching and getting on the court himself whenever possible.
For the past four years, Coach Erik has been deeply involved in youth volleyball, coaching his daughter and many returning players on their teams through Junior Frog, Spike Frog, and Spike Frog Pro levels. This marks his first season coaching with Austin Velocity, but he’s excited to bring his passion for the game and commitment to player development to the club level, helping athletes grow both individually and as part of a team.
Coach Erik’s coaching philosophy centers on both individual growth and team development, lessons that he learned from his many coaches as a lifelong athlete. He’s a strong proponent of using team sports as a vehicle to teach young athletes how to work together and views this as an invaluable life skill that extends far beyond the volleyball court. He believes in building not just better players, but better teammates and people.
Originally from Valparaiso, Indiana, Coach Erik has called the Austin area home since 2003. He currently lives in Volente, Texas with his wife and two kids. When he’s not on the court or running, Erik works as a technology professional at Amazon.
