What to Expect:

Week of Jun 9th – 1st week of league (Tues practices and Saturday game)

Week of Jun 16th – 2nd week of league

Week of Jun 23rd – 3rd week of league

Week of Jun 30 – No practices or games (4th of July break)

Week of Jul 7 – Week 4 Practices and Saturday games resume

Week of July 14th – 5th week of league

Week of July 21st – 6th week of league and end-of-season tournament by division

Divisions:

All divisions are co-ed (boys and girls may be on the same or opposing teams)

Players are expected to be able to overhand serve, know the basis of rotations, have the fundamentals down for each skill in order to join this league

Middle School Division – Incoming 6th to 8th grade

High School Division – Incoming 9th to 12th grade

Practices led by Austin Velocity Master Coaches

Parent volunteer coaches are required. They will assist during practices and head coach at Saturday games. A site coordinator will be at the games to help provide support to the volunteer coaches as needed

Practice & Game Format:
-
One 1-hour weekday practice on TUESDAY nights. Practices are on these dates: June 10, 17, 24, July 8, 15, 22. Middle school division practices: 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesdays at the Crossover. High school practices: 7:00-8:00pm on Tuesdays at the Crossover

One 1-hour Saturday game (between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM) on June 14, 21 and 28, July 12, 19. End of season tournament on July 26

Games follow USAV rules, but it will be three sets no matter what (2 sets to 25, 1 set to 15)

Teams may set positions and play rotational style volleyball. 12 subs (USAV)

Teammates: Request to be on a team with specific players, as long as they are in the same division

Location: HighPoint Center (1800 Clover Ln) or The Crossover (1717 Scottsdale Dr) (Velocity’s home gyms in Cedar Park)

Players and coaches will get a Velocity t-shirt that they may wear for practices/games
