COACH GABBY

HEAD COACH 156 TOPAZ(2026-2027)

Coach Gabby returns to the court for her 10th season of coaching, bringing a lifelong passion for the game. Volleyball has always been at the center of her life: when she isn’t coaching or playing, she’s watching it. Over nine seasons with AJV and Roots, she has coached athletes from the 13s through the 16s, including a trip to the USAV Girls Junior National Championship. Off the court, Coach Gabby serves as Director of Finance for an Alamo Drafthouse, where she brings the same leadership, organization, and attention to detail that she brings to the gym. She builds teams that compete with heart and play for each other, and she is committed to developing skilled, confident athletes who carry the values of the game with them on and off the court.

Coaching Philosophy: The Perfect Blend
Coach Gabby believes successful teams are built on the right mix of three ingredients, held together by strong character:

Hard Work: Improvement is earned in every rep. Players give full effort in practice so they can trust their skills in competition.

Determination: Great teams don’t quit on a point, a set, or each other. Players learn to push through mistakes and stay focused on the next ball.

Teamwork: No one wins alone. Every player has a role, and the team succeeds when everyone commits to it.

Character first. Alongside skill development, Coach Gabby emphasizes team spirit, honesty, fairness, and sportsmanship. She wants her players to be the kind of teammates and competitors others respect.

Favorite Quote:
“You’re either getting better or getting worse. I don’t think you stay the same in sports. If we want to achieve something special in the game, then those players have to recognize that they’re responsible every day for getting better.”
