COACH MARY
2025-2026 121 Diamond Head Coach
Mary is from Pflugerville, TX. She has played volleyball since she was thirteen including school, club and intramural leagues throughout college and graduate school. Mary is dedicated to growing athletes both on and off the court. She believes games are won starting off the court with what you put into practice. Mary’s main focus with her athletes will always be hard work, dedication and confidence in self and team. Outside of coaching, Mary is an Occupational Therapist, mom to two young boys and number one fan to her husband who plays competitive volleyball in the Austin area. This will be Mary’s first year with Austin Velocity, she is excited to see watch all of her athletes grow and reach their full potential!
COACH SYDNEY
2025-2026 121 Diamond Assistant Coach
Volleyball has been a part of Coach Sydney’s life for as long as she can remember. She has been playing for over 11 years, starting in 2nd grade in our very own Spike Frog program. Her love for the sport only grew and she started playing club with Austin Velocity in 7th grade and continued with club and school teams all throughout high school.
After graduating, Coach Sydney realized she still wanted volleyball to be part of her life, which lead her to begin coaching. This will be Coach Sydney’s second year coaching with Austin Velocity and she’s thrilled to continue being a part of such a supportive and close-knit community. She enjoys teaching young athletes and helping them grow not only in skill, but as importantly, in confidence. Her goal is to help create a positive and supportive environment where athletes can have fun, feel encouraged, and develop a deep and genuine love for the sport.
